My professional work is grounded in community mental health and reflects experience in direct clinical care, clinical leadership, program development, counselor support, and behavioral health service delivery. I work primarily with adults and approach treatment through an integrated, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based lens.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals affected by trauma, substance use, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, serious mental illness, chronic pain, identity-related concerns, sexuality, and the enduring effects of adverse childhood experiences. I use an integrated humanistic approach informed by psychodynamic, narrative, family systems, motivational interviewing, feminist, multicultural, and trauma-focused perspectives.
My specialized trauma training includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am particularly interested in helping clients understand how past experiences influence present emotions, relationships, identity, and behavioral patterns. My approach prioritizes emotional safety, client autonomy, collaboration, and respect for each person’s readiness and goals.
My experience in substance use treatment includes clinical practice, program development, curriculum design, regulatory compliance, and leadership of outpatient and intensive outpatient services. I view recovery through a person-centered and nonjudgmental framework that recognizes the influence of trauma, mental health, relationships, environment, identity, and access to resources.
I am committed to providing ethical and affirming care to clients with diverse identities, relationships, sexualities, and lived experiences. My clinical and scholarly interests include kink-affirming practice, counselor preparedness, cultural humility, professional bias, and the development of clinical language and skills needed to serve stigmatized populations competently.
As the Director of Substance Use Recovery Outpatient Therapy Services, I provide leadership across multiple community-based programs. My work includes supporting clinicians, strengthening documentation and clinical processes, developing treatment curricula, promoting regulatory and ethical compliance, and improving coordination across behavioral health services. I am especially interested in creating systems that support both high-quality client care and the continued development of counselors.
